Approach

The human being is the fundamental unit of transformation.

People create families, organisations, communities, institutions, economies, technology and systems. Those systems and environments subsequently shape human behaviour. Transformation therefore runs in both directions.

Enormous human potential remains constrained by behaviours, beliefs, relationships, environments, institutions and systems. The work begins by asking what is constraining the potential that already exists, and what must be built to let it flourish.

Operating instincts

Natural ways of approaching complexity, not a methodology
  1. 01

    Humanise

    Start with people.

I start with people: behaviour, identity, agency, relationships, context and lived experience, so that strategy, systems and technology never become detached from the people they affect.

  2. 02

    Analyse + Synthesise

    Parts and whole.

I take complexity apart to understand what is happening, then bring the pieces back together to reveal patterns, meaning and the whole.

  3. 03

    Strategise

    Turn understanding into direction.

I turn understanding into choices, priorities, pathways, leverage points and decisions people can act upon.

  4. 04

    Optimise

    Make what matters work better.

I look for what should be strengthened, what friction should be removed, what constrains performance, and what capability must be built.

People shape institutions. Institutions shape systems. Systems shape people.

People

What enables a human being to become, behave and perform differently?

  • Identity
  • Mindset
  • Agency
  • Behaviour
  • Relationships
  • Leadership
  • Performance

…and people change systems. The loop is the point.
